ROANOKE, Va. (WFXR)- A tip from a delivery driver led police in Roanoke to rescue 18 dogs seized from commercial property in the 3500 block of Birchwood Street NE.
The delivery driver reported the alleged animal neglect to police on Wednesday, January 21. Responding officers were not able to make contact with the property’s owner. But they did hear multiple dogs on the property. The probe was forwarded to the Roanoke Police Department’s (RPD) Animal Warden Unit.
On Tuesday, February 3, officers returned to the property with a search warrant. No owners or employees were present. Officers seized the animals.
