Holding cleaning supplies.
Working in her place.
For several seconds, she couldn’t breathe.
Confused, she asked to see Mrs. Tabe.
When Mrs. Tabe finally appeared, her expression remained emotionless.
“We already hired someone else,” she said simply.
No apology.
No explanation.
No gratitude for years of service.
Nothing.
Just like that…
She had been erased.
The woman stood outside the gate, holding her small bag tightly while the reality crushed her spirit.
The room she slept in was no longer hers.
The job she depended on was gone.
The people she served so faithfully had discarded her without hesitation.
And suddenly, a terrifying truth hit her harder than sickness ever had:
She had nowhere to go.
No home.
No work.
No money.
Nothing.
As evening approached and darkness slowly covered the streets, she remained standing there silently, abandoned by the very people she once trusted.
For the first time in many years…
She was completely alone.
